How to get cleaning clients without living on your phone

If you’ve landed here, you’ve probably tried almost everything already.

You handed out cards. You joined neighborhood Facebook groups. You asked your clients to refer you.

And some work comes in. Just not enough.

Sound familiar?

There’s one thing almost every cleaning business has in common: the problem is rarely that nobody can find you.

The problem is what happens after they do.

Why being found isn’t enough

Almost everything you’ll read about how to get cleaning clients says the same thing: get on Google, Nextdoor, Thumbtack, hand out flyers, post photos.

All of that is fine. It gets someone to message you.

But think about what happens when they do.

You’re in the middle of a house, gloves on. The message comes in at 11 a.m. You see it at 7 p.m.

By then, that person has already messaged three other companies. And the first one to reply got the job.

You didn’t lose that client for being worse than anyone. You lost them for being late.

Social media works the same way. You know you should post the before and after photos, because that’s what wins people over. But at the end of the day you’re worn out, you forget, and your last post is from two months ago.

Anyone who checks your profile sees a business that looks closed.

How to get cleaning clients: the two things almost nobody gets right

If I had to sum it up, I’d say this: to get more clients, yes, people need to find you. But above all, you need two things almost nobody takes care of.

Answer before anyone else. Even while you’re working. Even at 9 p.m.

Keep your social media alive. With real jobs, posted often, without eating up your hours.

The trick is that neither one should depend on you having a free minute.

Picture a normal day with this sorted out

I’ll walk you through an example so you can see it clearly.

Picture a cleaning company in Florida. A team of three, with the owner cleaning alongside them.

It’s 9 p.m. and someone messages on WhatsApp: “How much to clean a three-bedroom house?”

Nobody at the company is looking at their phone.

Even so, that person gets a reply right away. They’re told which services are available, asked what’s needed to give them a price, and shown which days are open.

They pick Thursday. The visit lands on the calendar by itself. On Wednesday, they get a reminder.

On Thursday, after the job, the team takes the before and after photos and sends them over WhatsApp, like they already do.

Those photos get posted on Instagram and Facebook on their own.

And the client gets a thank-you message with a link to leave a review.

The owner didn’t touch their phone for any of it all day.

If you want to see this same example step by step, it’s on the Missions page.

What I do to make it work like that

I won’t ask you to learn anything new.

First, I sit down with you to understand where you want to take your business. Then I look at how you work today: how clients reach you, which apps you use, and where they slip through the cracks.

With that, I show you what’s holding you back the most, and we get it running on its own, step by step.

You see the simple part: what happens for your client. Everything underneath that makes it work, I set up.

I’ll also tell you what I don’t do: I don’t shoot videos, I don’t run your social media by hand, and I don’t manage ads. If that’s what you’re after, I’m not the right person.

What changes when this is handled

Today, every message you answer late is a client who might go elsewhere. Your social media depends on you remembering. And reviews come in when someone feels like it, not because you asked.

Once it’s handled, you open your phone at night and everything from the day is already taken care of. Visits booked, photos posted, new reviews in. And you never had to put down what you were doing.

If you’re also worried about losing the clients you already have, I cover that in how not to lose clients in your cleaning business.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get my first house cleaning clients?

Start close to home: people you already know, neighborhood groups, and a Google profile with photos of real jobs. And make sure you reply fast to everyone who messages you, because the job often goes to the first company that answers.

Do I have to spend all day answering WhatsApp?

No. It can be set up so every person gets a reply right away, with the information they need and your open days, even while you’re working.

What should I post on social media for a cleaning business?

Before and after photos win people over the most, because they show your real work. What matters is posting them often, and that can happen on its own from the photos your team already takes.

Does this work if my clients write to me in both English and Spanish?

Yes. Each person can get their reply in the language they write to you in.
